Summary
Maja Profaca: Adaptive Unconscious and Cognition
Although it talks about the conscious and unconscious way of our functioning, which is often pushed under the irrational or unintelligent, this book does not do so in the way of a clear demarcation of these two spheres or some sharp dualism, but constantly emphasizes the permeation, interaction and transitions, the focus and gradation of these processes, which should not be viewed in isolation. What she emphasizes is that it is precisely in the constant shifting of emphasis, focus and articulations as well as new connections and integrations of experience and information that the creative and cognitive potential of these primarily adaptive processes, which has often been underestimated or mystified, lies. I see this scientific monograph as an extension of the description of the initial philosophical principles of cognitive science, which are often left untreated or insufficiently treated in empirical scientific works in this field. (and cognitive sciences in general)."
