Summary
Željko Pavić: Battle of the Archons
The name 'philosophy of faith', which appears in the subtitle of this book, may sound condescending if one knows that such a philosophical discipline does not exist. Namely, there is only a theological doctrine of faith, no philosophy of faith. The intention here is not to establish a new discipline, nor to defend the fundamental theological principles of religious studies in a fundamental-theological or of course-theological sense. Here, first of all, we want to show that belief and philosophizing are not at all such separate ways of man's relationship to the world and the transcendent, if we do not understand philosophizing speculatively, but as a responsible relationship to the other in general, as being addressed and affected by one's neighbor, but also by that which is transcendent and, in Kant's sense, unknowable from the point of view of common sense transcendental subjectivity.
