Summary
Plato: Phaedo or on the soul
There are five proofs for the immortality of the soul. The first proof refers to the origin of opposites from opposites; the second is based on the memory of ideas; the third appeals to the simplicity of the soul; the fourth is based on the denial that the soul is the harmony of the body; and the fifth about the participation of the soul in the idea of life.
