Summary
Nikolaj Berđaev: Philosophy of the free spirit
Berđaev's mature philosophy, deeply imbued with the pathos of freedom, clearly and sharply formulates the very problem of freedom. Personality and work are in complete harmony here. Seeing the importance of freedom for the meaning of the world and man, Berđaev consistently developed numerous topics that occupied world philosophy and theology, of course, primarily Christian thought. From the point of view of his philosophy of freedom, he reflects on topics such as spirit versus nature, symbols and dogma, revelation, faith, evil, redemption, knowledge and mysticism, eschatology, the church and its place in the world, and many others. He presented his thinking in a persuasive, and above all, interesting and inspired way, which made him one of the most widely read Russian and European philosophers. For anyone who loves freedom and thinks about its mystery and depth, Berdjaev remains a great teacher. That is why it is not an exaggeration to call him the apostle of freedom!
