One of Schelling's most important works in which he develops his philosophical program according to which the idea of beauty has a central place. The highest act of the mind, the one in which it encompasses all ideas, is the aesthetic act, truth and goodness are twinned only in beauty. Philosophy of spirit is aesthetic philosophy. Art is the representation of the infinite in the finite, the general in the particular.
