Man's Place in Nature: Two Infinities. The misery of man.

The first Croatian translation of Blaise Pascal's famous work was first published in 1969, signed by Danko Grlić. This edition, which followed about thirty years later, is divided into two parts. The first part of the title "Introduction to Pascal" contains some texts essential for understanding Pascal's life and the context of the origin of "Thoughts" (Chronological overview of Pascal's life and work; Life of Mr. Pascal, written according to Madame Perier, his sister; Letters of sister Jacqueline; On Pascal's death; Preface to the first edition of Pascal's "Thoughts"; Note of the editor of the French edition by Jacques Chevelier). The second part contains, in addition to the Croatian text, the French original and notes (which are expanded in relation to the original), with the aim of primarily contextual (historical, biographical and bibliographic) clarifications and translation of references.
