Summary

Ivan Nišavić: Nature, soul and happiness

Foundations of Epicurean ethics

The clarity and precision are striking in the pedagogical dimension of this book. It has the characteristics of the highest quality foreign epicurean textbooks. In addition to the fact that the general public and students can learn a lot from it, it also contains an original interpretation of the connection between Epicurus' theoretical and practical philosophy that meets the highest scientific standards and will be of great use to scholars and experts in Hellenistic philosophy. - From the review by Mašan Bogdanovski

The author showed in a pleasant and interesting way how the materialistic understanding of the universe can be postulated as the fundamental starting point from which a life worth living, in a rationally measured hedonism, later emerges. - From the review by Aleksandar Dobrijević

A large part of the work is devoted to analogies, parallels, underground or aboveground flows, justified and unjustified "modernizations", in short, heuristics of the mostly unrecognized debts that modernity and modernity owe to Epicurus. - From the review by Predrag Krstić

Ivan Nišavić was born in 1984 in Bijelo Polje. He attended primary and secondary school in Bar. He received his doctorate in philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, where he previously completed his undergraduate and master's studies. He is employed as a research associate at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade.
