Summary
Sanja Veršić: The Space of Culture
Pavel Florensky and Russian Communism
The subject of this book is space. The research is based on understanding the phenomenon of space from the perspective of Russian cosmism, its expanded experience of the world and man in the world, and in the context of cosmism - the ways of understanding space in Pavlo Aleksandrovich Florensky, one of the significant representatives of Russian "cosmic" thought. Russian cosmism, which marks the transition from the 19th to the 20th century and the first decades of the 20th century, is a specific worldview and perception of the world: the world wants to be embraced in its integrity, organicity and spiritual unity with the aim of actively transforming the existing values, views and attitudes of a culture that is experiencing a crisis. It is about the transition from the old to the new: the formation of a new paradigm is influenced by new knowledge in mathematics, physics and astronomy on the one hand, and the need to reexamine spiritual values by giving preference to the universal, collective over the individual on the other.
