Summary
Juan Octavio Prenz: The Holy Smoke
We smokers are going through hard times. This is confirmed to me even now, while sitting in the carriage of the train on which I travel from Trieste to Venice, I discover the same gentleman who began to disturb my peace fifteen days ago. Then I chose a non-smoking car because I had just decided not to smoke in the morning anymore. It was not a drastic, and especially not a dramatic decision; I simply noticed that as much as the two or three afternoon pipes suit me, the morning ones irritate me so much, so not only did they seem unnecessary to me, but they caused the opposite effect from the desired one. It was, therefore, about getting in tune with my body - a simple philosophy resistant to any kind of anxiety..
