Summary
Edgar Morin: Stars
The cinematograph is a device designed to study movement, and it has become the greatest spectacle of the modern world. It looked as if that recording apparatus was meant to convey reality, and it had become a dream factory. The movie screen was supposed to represent man's mirror, but in fact it gave the 20th century demigods: the stars. In this book, these demigods, creatures from a dream created within the cinematic spectacle, are studied as a modern myth.
