Summary
Krsto Cviić, Peter Sanfey: Southeast Europe
From conflicts to cooperation
The authors of this book do not repeat the common view that this is simply a region that is turbulent by nature, without the inner strength to break out of the vicious cycle of conflict and economic backwardness. Analyzing trends, especially after the year 2000, they reveal the potential for political and economic development, as well as the advantages arising from their regional cooperation, which the 1990s postponed, but did not permanently disable. The fundamental starting point of this book is, therefore, what Southeastern Europe can do, not why it can't do anything.
