Antun Kržan: On the origin of man I-II
After the wisdom and natural sciences
Kržan, Antun, Croatian philosopher and theologian (Marija Gorica, 8. VI. 1835 – Zagreb, 6. XI. 1888). In Rome, he obtained a doctorate in philosophy (1859) and theology (1863). Ordained priest in 1862. From 1874, the first full-time professor at the Faculty of Theology. Rector of the University (1876/77); appointed canon and director of the Archbishop's Seminary (1879); vicar of the archdiocese. From the point of view of neo-Thomism, he tried to criticize Darwinist teaching. The main work: On the origin of man. According to the results of wisdom and natural sciences (I–II, 1874–1877).
