Summary
Dušan Spasojević: Antipolitika
The monograph "Antipolitika" by Dušan Spasojević is the first book in our region that deals with the methods of infiltration of anti-political ideas into political parties and civil society in a fundamental and investigative way. The aim of the book is to explain the concept of anti-politics and the ways in which different actors (parties, civil society) use anti-political ideas and react to them in order to maintain their positions or win the trust of citizens. The book shows the influence of anti-politics on the ideology, approaches and tactics of political parties, as well as on the actions of civil society actors and their relationship with citizens.
From the review by Jelena Lončar
In his book, Dušan Spasojević does not reduce anti-politics to simple oppositional positions, but sees it as a complex phenomenon that has deep roots in the crisis of democratic institutions and the representative function of political parties. The author points out that anti-politics is not only the result of citizens' dissatisfaction, but also a tool used by politicians to position themselves as "saviors" of the system, often without any real intentions to change the "status quo".
From the review of Gazela Pudar Draško
Analyzing the different waves of protests in Serbia, Spasojević shows how every time citizens and public figures distanced themselves from parties and party involvement, seeking and expecting that only clean, non-partisan, non-political, civil protests lead to expected political and social changes. This was contributed by the nature of the protest, whose participants insisted on peaceful and non-radical measures, but also by the government's strategy not to use violence against the participants and to delegitimize them as "political".
