Poetics of the Time of Serbian Oral Epic Poems represents an innovative approach to one of the most significant layers of the oral literary tradition of the Serbs. The chosen approach - the research of the phenomenon of time as a poetic category - enabled a peculiar, and in previous investigations unused (or only partially used), insight into the oral epic tradition before the creation of Vuk Karadžić's collections and into the poems in Vuk's editions, which constitute the most significant corpus of Serbian oral literature.
