Summary
Velibor Džomić: The Road of Death
Confessions of survivors of a crime of horrific proportions, who have been traveling to scientific researchers and the public for decades, are finally in this book. A good part of the archival material of Ozna at that time is not available to researchers even today. Nevertheless, based on the published memories of the survivors, it is possible to reconstruct, for example, the tragic journey of about 20,000 Montenegrin Chetniks and civilians from Vezir Bridge in Podgorica to Zidan Bridge in Slovenia in 1945. According to research so far, at the end of the war, around 300,000 warriors in various uniforms gathered around the Brick Bridge - Partisans, Chetniks, Germans, Ustasha, Home Guards... Around 100,000 people were killed. Only from that long and sad Montenegrin column, about 12 thousand people left their lives there. Mass graves of innocent victims of communist terror are located in Kočevje, Novi Mesto, Zidana Most, Pohorje, Teharje, Šent Vid, Radovljica, Škofja Loka and in numerous other places.
