Summary
Karl Jaspers: Anaximander, Heraclitus, Parmenides, Plotinus, Anselmo, Spinoza, Laodice, Nagarjuna: metaphysicians who think starting from the source
Great philosophers, as time passes, are forgotten and rediscovered. They are inexhaustible sources for different interpretations and understandings. It remains as if what is great always has to be rediscovered - even when it seems perfectly familiar from the outside. It retains its freshness thanks to the originality with which it is understood in each new generation, as if the greats are only now fully coming to the fore. The greats have appeared among men to be heard by men, but they may be lost for centuries - until some man hears their language.
