Summary
Stijepo Letunić: The misery of the philosophy of development
The author connects philosophy with economics as a science, so this book enters the system of rare titles of the relatively new scientific and teaching discipline "philosophy of economics". As economic phenomena are always extremely complex, it became clear that economics cannot be left only to economists and that the analysis of economic phenomena also requires insights from the humanities. The author's point of departure is based on the assumption that the lack of insight into the generality in empirical sciences results in cognitive limitations and distortion of perspective, and that this is particularly evident in economic sciences. In order to overcome naturalistic reductionism in the social sciences, the reactualization of Hegel's philosophy can be useful, for example. In this way, the economy can be viewed from the point of view of the body of knowledge, and its place as well as the decision-makers in the economic sphere can be re-examined.
