Goran Gretić: Soul and Mind: the opinion of F. Petrić in opposition to Platonism and Aristotelianism
Goran Gretić's book "Soul and Mind" contains a review of the philosophical work of the sixteenth-century Croatian thinker Franjo Petrić, with a special emphasis on his views in opposition to Platonism and Aristotelianism. Co-published by the Institute of Historical Sciences of the University of Zagreb - Department of History of Philosophy, the role and influence of Franjo Petrić's thoughts on Renaissance Platonism and philosophy in general is presented. The development and foundations of Platonism and Neoplatonism, Hellenism and medieval Aristotelianism are exhaustively covered. Petrić's significance in the framework of Renaissance Platonism and his judgment of the Corpus Aristotelicum are explored. A significant place in the book is occupied by Petrić's metaphysics of light, and at the end of the book all the works of Franjo Petrić are listed and a rich bibliography used in this research.
