Summary
Nigel Tubbs: A History of Western Philosophy
"The autobiography I present here is an autobiography of Western thought that is about to follow the maxim of the oracle at Delphi, Know Thyself. This thought manifests itself in various forms - as freedom, as nature, as logic - but together they represent an educational relationship that constitutes an autobiographical work. Those who are skeptical of the imperialism that is grounded in the whole notion of the history of Western philosophy do not understand what it is about. The imperialism of this project is most open to negation and subversion in the study itself. The history of Western philosophy, in the sense of Self-Criticism, is perhaps the most effective form of self-criticism that the West has at its disposal. It cannot survive this criticism that arises from the denial of its very setting
