Summary
Igor Cvejić: Emotional confrontation with the world: Embodiment, logic, authenticity and social nature of emotions
From the cover:
In the introductory chapter, it is said that the author's intention is to turn his readers to the emotional aspects of life - to their better understanding and appreciation. Moreover, the study should be an ode to emotions. I believe that Igor Cvejić completely succeeded in this intention. The study is a kind of ode to conscious and felt life with others.
Excerpt from the review by Adriana Zaharijević, Ph.D.
Cvejić presents emotions as specific cracks that open our closed self to the other and different from us. Hence, being shaken by emotions, no matter how directly experienced, is presented in this study as a positive constitutive property of emotions as a phenomenon - as a way to interact with the world and to act through this interaction in terms of changing one's own relationship to the world. Emotions are presented as a special light in which we are shown that what we are in a relationship with (in the world), so, in turn, we ourselves are part of that relationship.
