Summary
Predrag Krstić: Critique of the Enlightenment Mind
Whether it is about the supposedly self-evident desirability of acquiring knowledge and its emancipatory mission, about the contribution of education in building an exemplary community, about humanistic and neo-humanistic visions of man that consider education as its key attribute, based on heritage as much as on contemporary theorizations of education, Critique of the Enlightenment Mind consistently breaks down the "narratives" that underlie such and similar conceptions and, advocating what has recently been called multidisciplinarity and polyperspectivism, he articulates the layers that make up the very idea of education. , as well as its "implementation", antinomian in itself. Such advocacy, however, should by no means be understood as giving up the effort to expose the complex construction (understanding) of education in all its discursive, historical and social polyvalence, but as a renewed call for its reflection. Loyalty to the tradition of education justifies a cardinal questioning of education itself. It requires taking into account all previous roles in education and openness to the challenges posed by global dangers and new technologies.
