Summary
Epictetus: On Human Freedom: The Teachings of the Freed Man
"Remember that your door is always open," tells us Epictetus, one of the most interesting philosophers of Stoicism from the 2nd century. This Greek spent most of his life as a slave which greatly shaped his philosophical thought. Epictetus rethinks the concept of freedom by striving for liberation from within, cognitively and philosophically. It is the search for inner liberation that most connects this ancient text with today's man, who continues to question the meaning of freedom and negotiates the conditions for its achievement in his specific circumstances.
About human freedom, which is before you, consists of selected chapters, i.e. records from the original known to the ancient world as the Conversations of Epictetus.
