Summary
Sophists 2
Late in arrival, early in departure
Edited and translated by: Aleksandra Zdravković Zistakis
Hippias, Antiphon, Critias, Anonim Jamblihov, Dissoi Logoi, Euthydemus
Along with the pre-Socratic thinkers, the Greek sophists were the first philosophers who preceded Plato and Aristotle. In this edition, in three books, all their available writings are presented for the first time in the Serbian language, thanks to many years of translation efforts. The translations of the sophist's works are supplemented with valuable notes. We will find that the Sophists were in many ways ahead of their time and reached the furthest point in transforming and effective reasoning in persuasive public speaking and communication. Their research on the position of women and slaves in society, the origin of religion, the difference between us and others... was the basis for further insight into the same and similar issues in future generations. In short, they are inspiring and worth reading.
