Summary
Gradac, Virtual history, no. 196-197, 2014
Magazine for literature, art and culture
The new thematic issue of the magazine "Gradac" is dedicated to virtual history, that is, considerations of what would have happened if some historical processes had gone in a different direction from the one they are. The authors who deal with "counterfactual" issues are respected historians Neil Ferguson, Andrew Roberts, Michael Barley, Jonathan Haslam and Mark Almond, and their topics are "Hitler's England: What if Germany had invaded Britain in May 1940?", "What if Nazi Germany had defeated the Soviet Union?", "Stalin's War and Peace: What if the Cold War had been avoided?" and "1989. Without Gorbachev: what would have happened if communism had not collapsed?".
