"I have always considered that it is extremely important for the Croatian people to have a president, what kind of person he is and not only what kind of policy he leads. Due to the importance of the duties of the president of the country, I believed that intellectuals are obliged to criticize even the smallest mistakes and immoral actions of the president of the country because, as the great philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam wrote almost 600 years ago, "the vices of the subjects are lost in the crowd, but even the slight mistakes of the president (prince) can sow despair and ruins everywhere like an unclean rotten tail", because unlike the mistakes of the subjects, which are lost in the crowd and the petty mistakes of the president (prince) spread the plague throughout the country."
