Lanza, Frano, Croatian physician and archaeologist (Split, August 10, 1808 – Santa Maria della Rovere near Treviso, January 2, 1892). Director of the Archaeological Museum in Split, 1863–72, and high school teacher in Zadar. He dealt with Dalmatian archeology and history, wrote about ancient Salona, Diocletian's palace; he had a polemic with F. Carrara about the problems of the excavations in Salona.
