Summary
Mark Tullius Cicero: Letters to Atticus I
Cicero's letters to his friend Atticus are preserved in 16 books and are a valuable testimony not only about the life of the great politician, writer and philosopher that Cicero undoubtedly was, but also a significant description of an important and exciting period. On the one hand, in these letters, since it is a non-binding form, Cicero plays with language and its possibilities, changes the styles and tone of the address, goes beyond the given forms and with his mastery of language goes beyond the usual language flows, so that, on the other hand, in these letters he leaves invaluable political insights, philosophical passages, remarks about everyday life or the nature of friendship and art.
The book is equipped with two prefaces, comments, three appendices signed by the translators and an exhaustive index of names.
