Summary
Ferdinand Ossendowski: Beasts, Men and Gods
When one of the leading publishers in America, Dr. Albert Shaw of the "Review of Reviews", after reading the first part of this book in manuscript, described the author as "Robinson Crusoe of the 20th century", he touched on the main feature of this narrative, which is at the same time the most attractive and the most dangerous: because the sequence of challenging and terrifying experiences recorded here seems too intense in places that it would be real, and even sometimes possible, in today's times and in our era.
After leaving Mongolia – the land of beasts, men and gods – via Beijing to the USA, F.A. Ossendowski responded to F. Lefèvre in 1924. to a round table discussion in Paris. Some of the leading experts in Oriental studies, religion and philosophy participated, R. Guénon, J. Maritain and R. Grousset. The book provides a transcription of their conversation, which was first published in Les nouvelles littéraires, and in translation also on the website www.eneagram.hr.
This travelogue takes the reader to Tibet and Mongolia, where the author met with spiritual, scientific and political leaders (lamas) - to those places that tickle the imagination of Western researchers to this day. The book contains the prophecy of the living Buddha from May 17, 1921, and the prophecy of the King of the World.
