Summary
Darko Sagrak: Dr. Milan pl. Šufflay: Croatian aristocrat of spirit
Darko Sagrak wrote a monograph on Milan Šufflay, a personality whose name and activities were systematically hushed up in all of Yugoslavia, thus filling the void that was imposed by Yugoslavianism for decades. Milan pl. Šufflay was once a prodigy of education: at the age of twenty-two, he became a doctor of science. He was a philologist who knew Greek, Latin, Sanskrit and a number of European languages, including Albanian. He was considered one of the best connoisseurs of Albanian history and culture. He is the author of a series of works that did not find a publisher. Darko Sagrak made an exhaustive bibliography of his works, described his life, highlighted Šufflay's role as a scientist, politician, writer and Croatian nationalist in a noble sense. Due to the non-acceptance of Yugoslavism, he fell in 1922 as a victim of a political assassination planned in Belgrade. The book also contains contributions from contemporaries about Šufflay and quotes from the press from the time of the SHS and NDH Kingdoms.
