Summary
Šime Đodan: Displaced Croatia
causes and consequences
The book Displaced Croatia - causes and consequences is the result of a synthesis of theoretical knowledge and empirical research into the conditions for the creation, functioning and development of Croatian society and the state, from their creation until the violent termination of Đodan's research in the early 1970s. The book was created as a scientific study of the tragedy of the Croatian demographic drama. In 1971, the South-Communist hierarchy, guided by the interests of Greater Serbia, condemned this work as a diversion, and sent Đodana to six years in prison. The book was not printed then, and the author managed to save the manuscript. The book Displaced Croatia - causes and consequences has five chapters in which the author writes about the Croatian people and their country, demographic trends in the modern world, the conditions under which Croatia developed in the past 100 years, and the economic policy that could prevent emigration.
