Summary
Peter Calvocoressi, Guy Wint: Total War
This comprehensive work was published in 1971 and is not only a military history of the Second World War. The authors dealt with the basic causes and trends of the Second World War, its totality (almost all countries were covered), presented the resistance movement and the post-war division of the world. The entire galaxy of statesmen, politicians, diplomats, soldiers and ideologues is described. Despite the different conceptual starting points on the explanation of social phenomena, according to the reviewer Branko Petrović, the book is a unique contribution to historical literature by its literary properties.
