Book Ethics in psychotherapy authored by prof. Dr. Gordane Dedić is the first book in the Serbian language in the field of ethics in psychotherapy and is primarily intended for psychotherapists and psychotherapy educators, but also psychiatrists, psychologists, students of medicine and psychology, as well as interested clients. With the growing awareness of the importance of mental health and the growing number of psychotherapists, as well as those who seek their help, this book is important and necessary in order to clarify numerous dilemmas and unknowns in this area.
Awareness of ethical standards and codes is crucial for competence in the field of ethics, but this awareness cannot replace an active and thoughtful approach to fulfilling the ethical responsibilities of psychotherapists. Each new client is unique and the challenge of working professionally means that psychotherapists will necessarily have to respond to unexpected difficulties that will require making professional judgments in circumstances that may be constantly changing and require the resolution of ethical dilemmas. A book like this one, which deals with basic concepts of ethics, principles of working with clients and all important issues from the relevant fields that psychotherapists encounter in their work with clients, can help them in this.
