Summary
Mirjana Krizmanić, Vladimir Kolesarić: Tolerance in everyday life: the psychology of tolerance
Tolerance is dealt with and interpreted by different professions, but philosophers and sociologists have dealt with it in the first place so far. Tolerance is a complex form of experience and behavior and must certainly be the subject of study in psychology and related professions. Therefore, in the book, the authors try to shed light on tolerance from different points of view and in different situations. Some psychological definitions of tolerance as well as interpretations of the origin and maintenance of tolerance and intolerance are offered. Some of the chapters talk about boundaries, teaching and encouraging tolerance, and about ways to mitigate or eliminate the influence of prejudices and stereotypes.
