Claudia Hammond: The Art of Rest: 10 Ways to Find Balance in a Busy World
This book is an invitation to rest. We have to start appreciating rest, approving it, praising it... Rest is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Rest is important. But what exactly is vacation?
Rest Test, a global survey conducted on 18,000 people from 135 countries produced interesting but also important results about how we rest. One of the initiators of this research, psychologist and award-winning author Claudia Hammond, carefully researched the 10 most popular ways to rest and discovered how science supports them. In this simultaneously educational and entertaining book, he brings the scientific evidence behind our choices while offering us insights and knowledge so that we ourselves can find our best vacation recipe and bring much-needed balance into our lives. Keeping in mind that reading came in first place in this research as the activity that gives us the most rest, just by reading this book you will bring more rest into your life!
Claudia Hammond is an award-winning author and lecturer and is a visiting professor at the University of Sussex, and in Great Britain she is best known as the host of various radio and TV shows and podcasts in which, as well as in her lectures and books, she deals with the ways in which scientific research and discoveries in the fields of psychology and medicine can improve our everyday lives.
