Heretičko bogoslovlje

Sambunjak Zaneta

Summary

Zaneta Sambunjak: Heretic theology

Thus, we have established a connection between Life of Konstantinov 13 and Jeremiah's Story about the tree of the cross, through the Bogomil motifs in both works, motifs that seem to be the same, but are presented somewhat differently. In the same way, we managed to establish a connection between Jeremiah's Story of the Tree of the Cross and Wolfram's Parzival, as well as between the Life of Constantine 13 and Wolfram's Parzival, also always on the basis and through motifs of a Bogomil heretical nature. If this is so, and we know that Slavic works are older than Wolfram's Parzival, we are left with the possibility of claiming that Slavic works stimulated the development of Middle High German literature, that is, that they were, or could have been, one of the primary incentives for its development.

Today, mutual contacts between the Orient and Byzantium, Byzantium and the Balkan peoples, and the Slavic peoples in general and, finally, between them and of the European West. The unity and continuity of heretical currents in the Middle Ages is assumed, and there is also talk of a broad movement of "Neomanicheism", realized through the Balkan Bogumils, which is why it is considered necessary to prove the existence of historical relations between these peoples. We tried to prove the existence of these relationships by comparing the heretical elements in Croatian medieval apocrypha with those in Middle High German literature. However, we tried to indicate the possible paths by which these two literatures could have come into closer contact. Seen from a historical point of view, the Paulicians, Bogumils and the Balkan heretical churches form the links of a single chain, linked from the moment when Paulicianism created Bogumilism which, in turn, would give life to the Cathar movement in the medieval West.

Also, from the point of view of literary sources, the legend of the Grail was found no later than the 10th century in the Life of Constantine, in chapter 13, much before appeared in the West. Its interpreter Konstantin Ćiril seems to have included some heretical elements, ideas of Bogomil origin, in the generally accepted church truths, and these are connected with the theme of the Grail. It seems that he spread the heretical Grail motifs to his other works (the Grail motifs from the 13th chapter are also linked to the motifs from the Croatian Glagolitic hymn Christ of the Resurrection from the Dead, whose authorship is attributed to Konstantin Ćiril), and these works spread throughout countries where the influence of the Holy Brothers was strong. Thus, first, in medieval heretical Bosnia, and especially among Bosnian Christians, in a way and manner analogous to Jeremiah. Through Bosnia, the motifs of the Grail legend probably reached the West, primarily to the Cathars. Thus, the beginnings of Slavic literacy and literature take on a new, important role and become part of the role model, and even the source, of important motifs of late medieval European literature, especially Middle High German.
