Summary
Fairy tale about Vasilisa Zlatna Pletenica and Ivan Graško
In the traditional sense, a fairy tale is a genre that contradicts and contradicts the rules of so-called objective reality - in a fairy tale, the heroes have superhuman powers, can turn into animals and return to human form, space and time are compressed or, on the other hand, extend beyond the limits of the humanly perceptible world. The fairy tale about Vasilisa Zlatna Pletenica and Ivan Graško is one of those texts that show that the contrasts and contradictions of the fairy tale with reality are only apparent. Namely, the fairy tale translated here encourages us to find some general human questions under the lifted veil of its aesthetics, to which objective reality fails to provide adequate answers. For example: what is the nature of good and evil? Where is good and where is evil? What is an individual ready to do in order to realize his wishes? What is beauty and where is it? In addition to the text itself, Tajana Žarković's beautiful illustrations will encourage the reader to look for answers to questions on the other side of reality - in the world of art, in the world of fairy tales.
