Slikovnica redefines the classic children's picture book through graphic design and typography. Croatian words for animals and their diacritical marks are transformed into corresponding graphic drawings "bird, dog, cat, hen, cow, hen and rooster". Drawing the relationship between language and image, the hand-stitched black-and-white picture book restores the relationship between language and image using the letter as an artistic medium. Stylistic elements such as border lettering and designed typography allow the book to transcend children's nature and become a fusion of graphic design for children and adults. The publication reflects the ideas and concepts of Josip Stošić, a well-known Croatian author of concrete poetry and a significant figure in Croatian conceptual art, whose legacy has yet to be explored and reinterpreted.
