Summary
Croatian literary heritage book 2.
The second volume of the Croatian literary heritage series brings extremely valuable results of the search for lost and forgotten Croatian literary material. Attached are the original texts by: Benedikt Kotruljević, Ivan Gučetić, Franjo Jožefić, Ivan Mršić Pažanin, Petr Makrančić Šibenčanin, Stijepa Rusić, Rajmund Kunić, Adam Alojzij Baričević, Zvonimir Bajsić. Thus, an important treatise written in Italian 1464: De navigatione, the first textbook on navigation in European professional literature, authored by Benedikt Kotruljević, humanist and merchant from Dubrovnik, was published for the first time in European contexts. Unknown eclogues by two well-known Latinists are being published for the first time: Rajmond Kunić, the famous translator of the Iliad into Latin, and Adam Alojzij Baričević, a priest-polyhistor from Zagreb, as well as the Kajkavian drama Papiga, a very successful localization of the play of the same name by the German playwright August von Kotzebue. Two radio comedies by Zvonimir Bajsić, premiered on Radio Zagreb thirty years ago, are also being released for the first time.
