About the book:
The term vedute, which is primarily used in painting, is also applicable in literature according to the author. He suggests that this term be used to refer to parts of prose as well as poetic units that can be "separated from the structure due to their orientation towards art in the representation of urban reality, or urban interventions in nature?". In the book, the author examines the main currents of European literature and finds examples of literary veduta in them, but, nevertheless, mostly deals with Russian and Croatian literature.
