Zagreb antiquarian bookshops - guardians of rare and valuable books

The pleasant smell of old books, diverse colors and textures of the title pages, favorable prices and rare and hard-to-find editions of famous world classics are the reasons why we like to visit antique shops.

There is always a factor of surprise because you never know what you might come across in the sea of ​​books on the shelves. You might find the one you've been looking for for a long time, but never get around to reading it. 

In any case, the rich selection of books, many of the antique stores have up to twenty thousand titles, will surely encourage you to read. Which is always good, right? :)

If you are not very archaic and prefer to surf the endless internet than to walk among the shelves, don't worry, the antiquarians are modernized, all books are available on our website and are updated every day. 

Antique shops have something for everyone. Literary classics such as Anna Karenina or The Brothers Karamazov can be purchased for only 40 kuna, while bibliophiles can expect real catches whose value rises to a dizzying few tens of thousands of kuna, such as the first edition of Gundulić's Osman or Fortis's The Road to Dalmatia.

Zlatarevo Zlato Antiques

They are located in the city center, in Ilica, so on the busiest street. They offer professional and popular books, sold-out and rare editions, new books at reduced prices, college and high school textbooks. 

They also buy textbooks, individual books and home libraries.

Antikvarijat Vremeplov

They are located in the center of Zagreb, in the street Radoslava Lopašića no. 11. It is a quiet street near Trg Žrtava Fašizma with enough free parking spaces.

They collect antique items, and they specialize in old postcards, letters-philately, books and posters.

Antiquariat Bono

Part of the family tradition since 1996, and for the last 18 years they have been operating at Petrinjska street 83 in Zagreb. 

They are mostly focused on current, popular titles and high school textbooks. They complete their offer with dozens of new books every day.

Antikvarijat Jesenski i Turk

They have been operating since 1995, and have moved eight times to date. They have been at their current address, Vukotinovićeva no. 4, for almost 22 years. 

Part of the staff has remained the same since the beginning of work, while the other part of colleagues either opened their own antiquarian shops or continued working in publishing houses. In any case, they remained in the industry.

The web shop is shared with Superknjižar, so customers can simultaneously search for used, antiquarian and new books.

Antikvarijat Studio

Antikvarijat Studio has been at the service of those looking for good books for 20 years, for love or need. They are located in the center of Zagreb, but they also thought of those who prefer an armchair or are not nearby, so you can find the entire offer of the antique shop, adjusted daily, in their online store: what is on the shelf in the antique shop - it is also on the web!

They deal with books: sold out editions, rare and old books, professional and popular literature. 

Antikvarijat Brala

Antikvarijat Brala is a family business that started working in September 1989 at Mihanovićeva 32, and since November 2008 they have been operating at Dežmanova 3.

Since January 2012, they have stopped doing business at Mihanovićeva 32, and now you can visit them only at Dežmanova 3.

Antikvarijat Biblos

Antikvarijat Biblos, founded in 2003, is a scientific antiquarian specializing in the purchase and sale of old, rare editions of Croatian and foreign books, maps and maps (1500-1900).

Our main activity is the repatriation of Croatian literary and cartographic heritage, that is, the return of Croatian books and maps that have been scattered around the world of their origin.

We offer about twenty thousand different titles. From affordable classics to valuable and rare books that are extremely important for Croatian cultural heritage.
