Summary
Michio Kushi: Do-In: exercises for physical and spiritual development
The most diverse spiritual and natural traditions of Eastern peoples in solving psychophysical problems, with the aim of finding spiritual peace, emotional balance and physical health, are increasingly used in the West. One of such complete approaches are Do-In exercises, which, along with the macrobiotic way of life, mean strengthening of physical and mental vitality. These ancient exercises are a combination of meditation, yoga, psychophysical training, martial arts and other ways of self-development. They can be performed at any time, individually or in a group, without special techniques. A picture-graphic representation was used to describe each exercise, and there are several practical appendices at the end of the book. The book Shiatsu of Whole Health by Shizuko Yamamoto and Patrick McCarty also offers opportunities for a comprehensive approach to health in the manner of Eastern traditions.
