Christopher Knight & Robert Lomas: Hiram's Key Pharaohs, Freemasons and the Discoverer of the Secret Scrolls of Jesus
Analyzing and comparing ancient Egyptian records, the Old and New Testaments, early Christian and rabbinic texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls and the rituals of Freemasonry, the authors attempt to reconstruct the lost story of Jesus and his brother Jacob and describe their efforts to establish the "Kingdom of Heaven" on earth, using Masonic stylized rituals. In light of this, the central figure is Hiram Abif, the builder of King Solomon's temple who was killed by three of his own men. The stylized death and resurrection of the candidate (the act by which he becomes a Master Mason) refers in its symbolism to Hiram's death. In the end, the authors boldly conclude that the establishment of the Christian Church was political ingenuity, not following the person of Jesus Christ...
