Europe, that is, the Western world, has its origins in Atlantis. To potvrđuju predanja, folklor, drevni spomenici, kulturni i umjetnički obrasci, simboli, civilizacijski usud i tome slično. In a lucid parallel, Mereškovski presents the undeniable kinship between Atlantis and Europe, with the former being the parent and role model of the latter. However, this kinship is fatal in its similarity, bearing in mind the devastating effect of the First World War, and the inevitability of the Second, which the author predicted. This fatal fate of Atlantis, self-destruction due to intoxication with its own technological power, Europe can avoid if it sincerely embraces Christianity, which will experience metanoia, deification, that is, humanity with the soul of the God of grace. On 420 pages, Mereškovski presents a metaphysics that separates being from non-being, truth from lies.
