Historical upheavals in Southeast Europe since the beginning of the 20th century led to deep transformations of people's daily lives and their life courses. The concept of the life course enables the understanding of human lives within their sociocultural and political context, stressors and people's everyday experience. Balkan contexts call for analyzes that bridge political and social changes and their impact on individual life courses. The works discuss issues such as family life and parenthood, age and aging, life cycle rituals and artistic expressions dedicated to them.
