Summary
Alain Badiou: Our trouble comes from afar - our evil reaches far and wide
In this short essay, Alain Badiou deals with the bloodshed committed on November 13, 2015 in Paris and tries to explain what happened. Who are the perpetrators of this mass crime? And how to qualify their work? Where is our world, from the point of view of what was insidiously, and then aggressively, established in a little more than thirty years? What we are suffering from at the world level is the absence of a politics that would separate itself from hegemonic capitalism. Until some other strategic proposal comes along, the world will remain fundamentally disoriented. The task before all of us is to try to change the direction of human history and pull it out of the unfathomable evil it is currently sinking into.
