Summary
Horatio F. Brown: Dalmatia
First edition. Published in the publisher's edition of Black's Popular Series of Color Books. Contents and list of illustrations at the beginning of the book, after the Preface. Alphabetical index at the end of the book. Illustrated: full-page Sketch-Map of Geographical Dalmatia on p. XII, full-page floor plan of Diocletian's Palace on p. 78, 24 full-page reproductions (in color) of Walter Tyndale's watercolors on panels, a full-page black-and-white reconstruction of Diocletian's Palace on panels, taken from Frano Bulic's work L'imperatore Diocleziano (Split, 1916). When writing, the author primarily used Thomas Jackson's work Dalmatia, the Quarnero and Istria, but also other available works, and he himself visited Dalmatia three times - in 1883, 1910 and 1924.
