Summary
Edina Solak: Debates on language in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1850 to 1914
The book Debates on language in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1850 to 1914 is the result of many years of scientific and teaching engagement of Dr. Edina Solak, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica. The work fills a gap in the fund of professional literature in the field of language, more precisely the discussion about language in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the mentioned period, since the research so far is mostly limited to individual cases in certain shorter time intervals. At the same time, there are very few systematic and overview studies that take into account literature and documents in the Ottoman Turkish language, especially in the period of pre-standardization of the language in Bosnia (1850–1878).
