Summary
Aristotle's Athenian Constitution
Translated, introduction and notes written by: Niko Majnarić
In the "Athenian Constitution" Aristotle introduces us completely to the internal history of the Athenian state, but he does not deal exactly with the state forms in their historical development, but considers in connection with this everything that is connected with state administration, such as e.g. measures, weights, courts, care for the poor and so on. The book is divided into two main parts: historical and systematic. In the historical part (chapters 1-41), the author explains the history of the Athenian constitution from the earliest times to his own age, listing eleven changes in the Athenian constitution in chronological order.
