Summary
Gabriel Rockhill: The CIA also reads French theory
"If we mistakenly assume that intellectual work has little or no significance in the "real world", not only will we have a wrong picture of the practical implications of theoretical work, but we will expose ourselves to the dangerous risk of becoming blind to political projects whose cultural ambassadors we can unknowingly become."
Gabriel Rockhill:
French-American philosopher, writer, cultural critic and activist, known for his innovative scientific work in the field of history, aesthetics and politics. Rokhil advanced a new model of thinking about the historical relationship between art and politics. Instead of understanding them as two spheres separated by an insurmountable divide or connected by a privileged bridge, he shows through historical and materialistic analysis that they are not fixed entities with a unique relationship, but social practices and "concepts in struggle".
