The book deals with the specifics of the organization, structure and diplomacy of the Holy See and the peculiarities of its position and role in international relations. She sheds light on the mechanisms of the Holy See's diplomacy, pointing out that the key to its understanding is reliance on the life of the Church, that is, its "theological context". Added to the book are facsimiles of basic public documents related to the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Holy See, credentials and appointments.
The foreword for the book was written by Cardinal Josip Bozanić, Archbishop of Zagreb, and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia at the time the book was published. The speeches were written by Ive Livljanić, the first Croatian ambassador to the Holy See, and Hrvoje Škrlec, a papal diplomat.
